Default P0340 Nightmare

New short block installed earlier this month and P0340 camshaft position sensor code is the last one I can't get cleared - no other codes are present. Engine is timed properly. Cam pos sensor is known good from another engine. Known good MAF also installed. Crank sensor has to be good or the engine wouldn't be running (and it's running smooth as silk).

WTH could I be missing? Does this part of the engine harness ever go bad? Fuse? Ground?

Harness can go bad occasionally. May have been accidentally damaged it or something left disconnected during the recent mx.

I took a closer look and there's no damage to the underhood harness or the cam position connector.

** EDIT **
Found a section of harness further up the line damaged by the PO when he took the old engine out. Fixed.
