Hey guys,
my check engine light is on with a fault P0447 purge canister vent valve/dmtl power stage fault. Put a Bosch purge valve in it, just the valve no hoses, and fault came back immediately. Any ideas what to do next?

 

Problem ought to be the canister vent shut valve rather than the purge valve from the sound of it and the code definition. Possible that you changed the wrong part.

 

Kenso is correct. That code description is deceiving. Check the canister vent valve. If the code comes back immediately, there is more than likely an open in the wiring or the vent valve solenoid. You can unplug the sensor and do a resistance test on the valve. If the circuit isn't open, check the wiring. Sometimes the insulation gets brittle and cracks. Then it's just a matter of time before the wire corrodes.
