Yes I learned the hard way with my K&N Airfilter, I get a P1178 error code on mine, working from cheapest to expensise which is Fuel filter, o2 sensors, then MAF

And on the o2 sensor there are 4 which i found range from 177 dollars to 55 dollars, the MAF is 700 + dollars if new, if you get a used/refurb you can spend 10 to 250

Was it pre oiled, or did you do it yourself? A D1 MAF for the most part should be ok, they are nore durable (hence the $600 price tag)
I would swap it out with a paper one and see how it does.
