Default P1231 - Fuel pump relay fault Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - below minimum

Hello,

Disco 2 2004 V8 - car runs fine, no problem. Starts on first crank - even after one week being off.

But Nanocom shows me this error. Erased it and it comes back up.

-> P1231 - Fuel pump relay fault Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - below minimum

I would like to sort this out before it gets me stranded.

Any tips on what to check / look for?

Thanks!

I'd delete the fault and see if it comes back. Sometimes these cars will throw a code if the voltage is a tad bit too low. It could also be a faulty/finicky relay. You can swap relays around after deleting the codes and see if the code pops up again.

Cleared the errors - took it for a ride; the error came back.

I then swapped R1(pump) with R3(headlamp wash), cleared the errors and took it for a ride.

Errors gone! Found the culprit!

Thanks!
