hi all. seem to be having nothing but problems with my 03 disco. the check engine light came on this morning and advanced auto gave me the above code, no description.

any input would be greatly appreciated

 

That's a tough one I think it has to do with your SAI (secondary air injection).

 

P1413 is Secondary Air Injection Pump Relay Control Circuit Signal Low

 

i think the pump recirculates the exhaust gas for emissions, i don't know why it is just running low. but there could be one of three things Pump Itself, Relay control board, or Check Valve (which is the cheapest fix of the three)

 

my air filter was really pretty dirty, changed that and had the computer reset. thank you for the info, if the problem comes back, i'll start with the cheapest option and come back.

do you have alot of problems with yours? any tips for avoiding issues with these trucks?

 

the only way to avoid having issues with a Landy is to not own one. It's a love hate relationship, i love my truck, it hates me. It is really about maintenance with these trucks. You have to keep on top of everything don't let anything get by you and make sure to keep up on the preventitive mainetnace, like fluids, filters, lube and such....

did you buy the truck new or used? how many miles are on the truck?

 

It wasn't your air filter that caused your code, it is the SAI and it will come back so go find a mechanic that is familiar with them.

 

I totally agree. The SAI caused the error message. Just look for a local car repair shop so that you can have assistance for your car. You should also let the mechanic check your engine parts for your car's convenience. Especially the Rocker Arm Stud Girdle coz this helps promote engine power and stability.
