Default P1415

I replaced the drivers side SAI valve last week. I cleaned it out, sucked on the port with the small hose and you can hear the diaphragm move, open and close. The old one sounded the same.

Right after replacing that I had p1412, p1415, p1171, p1174 which i cleared and have not come back since.

I can not find a vacuum leak, the gas cap is newish.

any other thoughts? I suppose the "new" sai valve could be bad also. I am wondering if switching sides of the valves should move the error code.

Any other idea?

thanks

Is the SAI solenoid good? With 12v it should be a definite click sound. Mine was a mushy scraping noise. Fixed my 1415. Take it off and apply 12v on the bench.

Are any of your vac hoses clamped? They don't want to be. Just well fitting, tight, new hoses will be snug enough to stay sealed when a partial vacuum is there. A clamp can only mess that up by squashing the tubes oddly.

I judged that there was very little to go wrong with the valves. They were a bit dirty but a good clean and they were back on. Did one of yours test bad?

No clamps, not sure how to test the valves. Other than listen to them when a vacuum is applied.

i will try the solenoid. although wouldnt that cause the fault on both sides of the SAI system?

My valve test was just sucking on them. They passed my rigorous testing.

Maybe solenoid would throw two codes, not sure. Its an easy test to rule it out.

Are the hoses new, or just look good? One of the things on my high mileage service when i got the car was all new vac hoses, so i was confident of them.

Hmmn. Just had a thought. When I was fitting my new suspension last week, I had to remove the MAF at the throttle body to get the shock tower in/out. I forgot i'd done that, tried starting car which wouldnt run. Realised my mistake, and reattached MAF. This threw a 1415. not sure what im saying, but im saying it.
