Default P1590 033:Front Left Outlet Value Open Circuit

Hey folks,

Hmm... I don't think I have the three amigos, cause no TC light... most of the time its just the ABS. But sometimes I'm getting the ABS light, Self-Leveling Suspension, Off Road Lift, and Hill Descent Control lights either steady on or blinking... seemingly random occurances

Have a decent code reader that does LandRover ABS, and am getting the following errors: P1590 033:Front Left Outlet Valve Open Circuit.

I think this refers to a valve in the ABS Modulator but not sure that the ABS Shuttle Valve repair kit applies to that error... I realize it's not a hugely expensive fix, but still, $80 is $80.... just wanna make sure that particular sensor is the one in the kit before I do.

Also getting Front Right sensor low as well as Front Right sensor erratic however this is probably cause she probably needs new brake pads. Ive bypassed both left and right sensor connectors which were dry-rot, and am reading 1K resistance on each, so I'm pretty sure they're ok and the error will go after I change the pads. I'm more concerned about the AbS Mod error.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Mike

P1590 is a generic rough road fault. Try removing the ABS sensors from the hubs and cleaning them. Also make sure the allen bolt that secures them is tight. Then for the modulator I'd look up Option B and fix that issue.

well, here's a little update... I checked the wiring all the way from the ABS Mod to the ECU and it's fine for all four output valve sensors. Also, at the ABS, I pulled the connector and I'm reading direct continuity to ground on all four output value pins with engine off. Since the other three sensors aren't failing, I'm assuming direct to ground is correct. I'm confused where the open circuit could be. Maybe its just not opening when running? Do I need to retest them with it running or brakes applied?

From D2 WM.
The rough road signal can fail in the following ways:
l Harness or connector damage
l SLABS failure — wheel speed sensor

A rough road signal failure may be evident from the following:
l HDC / ABS warning light on

P1590 ABS rough road signal circuit malfunction Hardware is OK, but SLABS ECU is sending an error
signal
I'm confused where the open circuit could be
It may be intermittent and more difficult to troubleshoot.

X1 ......... Option B is also a 'sticky' at the top of the page. Easy mod to do takes around an hour.
