RE: PANCHOs 94 DISCO
Yea, I just had a little of that at the end.. Engine started to surge..
About to go drive the **** out of it..
************************************************** **********
Ok for those with 94 Discos reading this thread for refrence
I used the PCV hose pictured here, I just undid it, turned it upside down and slowly poured the Seafoam in..
while engine on idle..
Pour a little, wait, pour a little, wait, this should take several minutes
at the end I poured a little too fast and it started surging..
Let it set
It smoked alot upon startup and was difficult to maintain Idle.
Drove the **** out of it and everything seems fine..
It Idled pretty smooth to begin with, but it seems to run even smoother now and less ping I guess you would call it, lesss TAP TAP TAP...

RE: PANCHOs 94 DISCO
So Im thinking about the process of changing the ATF fluid,
The 94 Discos must have a transmission cooler right, So I just hook the output line to some clear tubing and into a waste container,
and put the input line into a big jug of new fluid, and then let the Transmissions Pump do the work for me, and let it pump untill
I see fresh fluid going into the waste container...
My question is, should I do this while the truck is in gear with my girl standing on the brake, or will that be too much pressure, should I do it with the tranny in neutral or park??

Trying to get every bit of fluid out of the tranny cooler seems like a lot more work than necessary. Like Spike said just pull the drain plug and drain the tranny itself then do it again at your next oil change. Keep doing that until you're convinced that it has been thoroughly flushed out.
