just got pulled over last night because my brake light is out checked this morning and it works fine with my lights off but once I turned on my lights my brake light just stays on I just changed that bulb and plastic housing as it was melted a little everything worked fine for about 6 months now its stuck on... could this also be why my cruise control doesn't work i read that they are connected

Is the bulb a 1156 or 1157?
The cruise control is most likely a cracked vacuum line.

 

the package says 7528 but it is the duel fillement style
