Default Patching a Headliner

Hi all. Headliner is out, sunroof and drip pans cleaned new brass threaded/****** connectors for the drains. Before I install new headliner material, I am considering patching over voids in my headliner. I have an SE7 with a DVD player mounted behind the front sunroof. I don't want to reinstall it - I want a cleaner look and really, who watches DVDs on an 8in screen. How do I install a patch in the headliner? The headliner is 1/4in think, more compressed in some areas. What sort of patch material is available?

I would just pull it down and patch it with fiberglass, which would be an easy fix, but also would be stronger than what is there. Really an material would work. The headliner is wider than most, I think 54", so you need to be certain you are getting the correct width. I think I got mine from headliners.com or similar. Two cans of 3M spray adhesive, don't use cheap adhesive, not worth it.

Just as a side note, don't forget to install elbow fittings on the rear sunroof drain tubing.
