Default PCV mod... maintenance required?

Some of us have been running this mod for a ton of miles by now, and I'm wondering if any maintenance should be done on the valve? Remove and inspect? Clean?

They are so inexpensive, just change it out if worried, though it's new placement makes it less likely to foul.

My PCV valve got dirty inside after 28k Miles. I cleaned it with carb spray. Make sure it rattles, opens with slight pressure (mouth) from one side and blocks from the other side. It is a 5 minute maintenance item.

Has anyone ever used a catch can with the PCV mod? I wonder if that would make that much of a difference on fouling.
