Pics of old driveshaft
Just replaced my driveshaft this weekend and wanted to post pics of the old one. It just started chirping last week, but MAN it looks like it was close to failing in a big way. There was a ton of play in the joint.

In lieu of the dier warnings posted on this site, I replaced my OEM at 152k miles, with a HD shaft from rovers north. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I did, but the removed factory one has zero play in the joints, and still seems to be in pretty good shape? I guess I'll know for sure once I open the joints up.


I am really glad this forum has prevented disaster on some vehicles. It has been well worth listening to find out what may go wrong or how to fix what is going on. I am still driving my 99 after many years of travel, because I got on here an did what is necessary to keep it alive. I have givin up on her a few but now I have a backpack trip planned this weekend.we will be in the 99 to get there. Something like a driveshaft could junk out a good truck is a shame . I Rover on
