A Piller Finisher (BODY)
I have a Disco II 2000 SD7. I lost the A piller wind finisher driving on the Loop 202 in Phoenix the other day. This is the plastic stripping on the driver and passenger side that go over the edge of the windshield. Picked one up at the dealer thinking that it would be a snap to put on. What am I missing? How does the thing go on, i know that it clamps with the little clips but what angle do you approach this at, and does the hood and door have to be open? Any help would be great.

Good question, I have never lost mine and have never explored what it would take to put one back on, I will go look at mine and get right back to you.
Well, I went out and looked at my 99 D2. With the door open, mine comes off by removing 2 screws on the inside of the door jam, shouldn't be any different then your 00.

this is the odd thing, There are 3 clips that clip to the fram of the vehical. then there are the 3 scres on the inside of the door. but every way that you twist and turn that piece the clips will not mount correctly or the holes for the screws do not match up. Does the front quarter panel have to come off? I will go out and play with it some more.....any one else have some ideas?

Solved! You have to shove the base of the molding down as far as you can toward the hood. do your best to line up the clips, and the slowly bump it up until you hear a partial click. Once you hear the click it is in and not coming off. With all your strength pull over the molding to align correctly then work it down until you hear the other two clicks. You will notice that it is not sitting flat give the top a little bump and then it is sent until it breaks again! I almost forgot make sure you replace the three screws in the door jam...
