Default Please help alarm issue

Hello, I own a 2001 land rover discovery 2. The other day my husband changed a spark plug in our d2 and when he tried to start the truck again it won't start. The alarm is tripped. We have the battery disconnected now but when it is connected the lights are flashing, and the truck will crank and but will not start. When we bought the truck it came with sets of keys with key fobs but had a house fire in December and all got melted. What can i do? I hear i can get a code from Landrover. how? just call a dealership ? any input could help

I have no idea, but I used the most powerful tool in the world; the "search" feature on this forum ;-)

Here is what I came up with:

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...d-works-45005/

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-dealer-81024/

You may still want to bite the bullet and go to the dealer and get all new keys and fobs.
Good luck!

Should be a method to reset via the key in the door tumbler. I don't know it but have read about it.

Talking Solved!!!!!

Thanks for the replies from all, I actually did try search but found no help. But tonight my husband fixed the issue!!! By accident. He had a friend help him tow it home we were gonna spend the money to by a key fob and have it programmed. My husband was poking around under the hood and saw something under the hood with a little boot type thing on top. He pressed down on the top and it made a click. That simple. The lights quit flashing so tried to start and it worked!! YEAH!!!

Upon research I found out that the button was a boot switch. I will find the site again and post a link.

I'm happy he figured it out.

Was it the inertia switch?
Looks like this:

Or maybe the hood alarm switch?
