Given the very slow loss of coolant (unmeasurable in the two months we've had the truck) do you think I can put this off for a few weeks as funds are tight after the holidays?

Yes. Just check your coolant level often. I check mine every day before I crank the first time.

Also, make sure whoever's diving it knows that any movement on the temp gauge is very bad and means to stop and shut it down that very instant.

At this point I'm pretty sure the leak is coming from around the bolt head. I don't suppose you just back it out and put a new seal on it and get on with you're life???

Anyone?
