My Disco 98 wouldn't start so I'v justfitted in a new fuel pump into the car but it still won't start. I was thinking since my fuel level shows less than a quarter tank full, that maybe I should fill more fuel???
I was also thinking that maybe the new fuel pump is defective. Is there any way i can test it, maybe with a volt meter??

 

Why did you decide to replace the fuel pump, what tests did you do, is it not building pressure, no power to it, what????

 

is it a no crank, or a cranking no start... does your check engine light go off while cranking... is your security led on solid... generally a shot in the dark is not the way to go, give us some info and youll get the answer you need... on a d1 you have a fuel rail test port, check to see if you have pressure there, if so, fuel pump was not right
