Default Plug wires?

Hello everyone.
I have a 2001 se. It recently threw a fault code (po305) which I understand to be a misfire on cylinder 5. I have changed the plugs but i'm unsure how to change the wires? There looks like an awful lot of plumbing to get to them? Is it a difficult job? Is there anything i should know before i start?
Cheers John.

The rave procedure has you remove the intake plenum which I personally find easier, especially since I have big hands. You don't have to do it that way though, search around the forum there is a good writeup for doing it without removing the upper intake.

I'm sure others will say it and in case you haven't been told yet, the recommended wires are magnecore 8mm wires. Don't get the OEM rover wires, they're thin and way more expensive.

Yes, do one at a time. Also what plugs did you get? u remove the intake plenum its easier to make sure you get them on the coils correctly and you will save you knuckle skin.

Thanks for the response guys.
I bought Prestolite wires. I have used them on my Chevy van before. Is there any reason not to use these? I would rather use a good quality wire as this seems to be a little involved to change them out. I can take them back and buy something else.
Thanks John.

this is generally the recommended wire set for Discos.
Amazon.com: Magnecor 80242 Ignition Cable Set - 8mm 1999-2004 Rover All Models: Automotive Amazon.com: Magnecor 80242 Ignition Cable Set - 8mm 1999-2004 Rover All Models: Automotive
switch it up to 8mm from 7mm. i'm due for it myself.

John,
Do your self a favor and return those wires, they won't hold up under the hood on a D2 and will fail. Trust me, you do not want to replace them in a couple of months cause they are misfiring.
Go for something like a STI or Magnecor in a 8 mm silicone wire set.

Also when replacing the wires, you remove them all at once from the coils other wise they will just get all twisted around.
If you want some help on this, send me your number and I'll call and walk you thru the process with the manifold on.

My question is about wires is why do you recomend those wires over the factory wires?

Thanks Mike
I returned those wires yesterday and i'm going to order the one's you suggested (magnacor). Thanks so much for the heads up. i will let you know when i have the wires and find a clear day to fit them.
I visit forums a fair bit for my Motorcycles and I must say this is by far the friendliest, informative and most helpful site i have ever visited.
Thanks to all.
Cheers John
