Default Positive vibes!

So I'm done with all of Mike's 60k service except trans/diff fluids, and this spring I got a Tom Woods driveshaft, new Akebono brake pads, and about 3 weeks ago I bought 4 265/70/16 General Grabber AT/2s. Time for the first big road trip since buying it in October, right?

I just pulled a UHAUL 12x6 trailer 1750 miles from Martin, TN to Las Vegas, NV. Roughly 600 miles a day, up and down mountains, in the rain and boiling 115 degree heat, across endless flatlands and deserts.
Never once did I feel a hitch in performance, all the new ticks I kept thinking I was hearing were imaginary, the truck ran like a dream. The 2000 lb trailer had ~1100 lbs worth of my belongings in it so I could make this move, and yet I still managed to average 13.17 mpg for the entire trip at a steady 62 mph down I40.

Beautiful country, beautiful drive, beautiful truck. Don't let all the negative stories of trouble and repairs keep you down, folks! Best 4x4xFar!

congrats on the trip.... we live in an amazing country that is meant to be seen( in part) thru a windshield. and lets face it the windshield on our trucks is just the right size. It is in part why I have always loved and now own.. oh and negativity has no place in my life. I use it as a means to learn. Enjoy the deserts around your new home. some of the most spectacular colours I have ever seen are from those that surround you now.
