Does the key you have have a remote built into it?

Try locking and unlocking with the key in the driver's door. Does it lock and unlock all the other doors? (you may have to turn it to the unlock position twice).

You can enter the default EKA code of 1515 using the procedure in the following post:

https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...biliser-43303/

But it will only work in the driver's door lock is working right.

Default 99 rover

The remote is in the key. The remote portion of the key stopped working about a month prior to me taking it to the shop for repairs. per DiscoMike I have tried the lock/unlock X 3 to try and reset the alarm, no go. When doing that the key was only locking/unlocking the drivers side door I had key in, it was not controlling any of the other locks. thanks again for any suggestions....

If it's not capable of unlocking the other doors with the key (you may have to turn the key TWICE to unlock all of the other doors), then the driver's door lock isn't sending the signal to the alarm to to disable it. You won't be able to enter the EKA code without that working either.

You probably need a driver's door lock actuator.... but that's just a guess.

Have you tried putting a new battery in the remote?

You pop off the back. In the owners manual it shows this being done with a small screw driver or knife point inserted into a slot that is on the edge of the remote key where the loop to add it to a key ring is. Little flat round battery inside, available from lots of stores.

from the owners manual:

The battery should last for approximately
three years dependent upon use. When the
battery needs replacing it will be apparent
from the following symptoms:
• A gradual deterioration in range and
performance.
• The alarm indicator light in the instrument
panel will flash rapidly for 10 seconds
after the driver’s door is opened.
