Well, sad news. I received confirmation this morning that our ol' D2 was crushed at the salvage yard.

Even though we haven't had it for several years now, it's almost like losing a pet. Just knowing that it isn't around anymore, even after going through it once. But, seeing it alive and then getting our hopes up to try and get it back, this outcome is kind of a letdown.

We'll eventually have another one, though! Just gotta find the right one, and make some room to have another vehicle. Currently have our 2 daily drivers, then a couple of classics ('47 Plymouth, '71 Chevy C10, '73 Ford F100), and a motorcycle doesn't really leave me any room for another one right now.

Cool fleet. My D2 is a DD, as is my P38 for winter. But our distances aren’t huge.

Thanks! They are fun. The trucks are current projects. The '73 Ford is my wife's truck - her grandfather bought it new. We brought it home a few years ago and got it running again. It sat under a tree at her grandmothers house for almost 20 years before I convinced the family to let us have it and bring it back to life. While it technically runs and drives, it still needs a lot of work. The '71 C10 was supposed to be mine, but our 7 year old laid claim to it when I brought it home 4 years ago. It's currently going through a LS swap. Although it's been a long process with 3 kids under 7 yrs. The '47 Plymouth is a very nice car that we got as a family cruiser. It's in immaculate shape for it's age and is pretty much original to my knowledge.

We had the '99 D2 that was our daily driver, then had a '04 that my wife drove for a while. Her mom is currently driving it.
