Default Possibly Going to Buy a Disco!

Well, I found a 95 discovery that might be a good one to buy. The only real concern I have with it, is it makes a grinding noise that is coming from either the transmission or the transfer case. My thoughts are either the wrong type of ATF, the torque converter and possibly the transfer case chain. Which brings me to my question. Do discovery Is have a transfer case chain? Because, I cannot find the part for a discovery I. Thanks in advance!

I would only buy that disco if you can get it cheap. I mean $1,000-1,200 cheap.

tell the dude you will give him $500 because it's a **** truck, and then you can get it towed. you shouldn't drive a car that makes a grinding sound from the trans. or t-case. Hell i would go so far as to say maybe you shouldn't drive are vehicle with a grinding noise comen out of anywere.....

No, they are all gear driven. What part can you not find?

The RR would probably blow up on the way over lol. If it were only 6 hours away and the roads were pretty straight and level, I would definitely use the RR and haul it back. But, the drive is very windy, mountainous, and hazardous in some seasons. I am having second thoughts about the disco but, who knows. I might change my mind overnight. From what the owner is telling me (I haven't actually looked at it yet), the grinding noise sounds like it is an axle problem. It is a continuous noise.
