that's still low mileage, I would think that the majority have a few more on the clock. and I still get a headache when I read your user name.......

aftermarket oil pressure gauges are a cinch to install, for added peace of mind.

thanks for all the replys. and questions.
Seller states the did have the u joint all replaced. and a throttle position sensor replaced so far. Claims its never ran hot.
so no oil pump replacement, head gaskets, or belts, hoses, coolant etc maintenance has been done.
i really appreciate all the input. it has really helped me to know what to look for.
guy also claims he get 21 mpg. so i know he is willing to lie a bit and stretch the truth.
mfg sticker itself shows 11-16 and internet searches average aroung 13 mpg
i think i may pass on this Disco. i think i still want a Land Rover but i may find one where some of this routine stuff has already been paid for by some other poor person.

21mpg is obviously a lie. If you ask a seller what it gets for mpg and the answer is anything other than, "come on man, it's a Land Rover", then you know they're probably lying.

Actually that may be a Tdi, which could definitely get a good amount higher than 21mpg!

And I get anywhere between 400 MPG to 800 MPG in this manner.

Oil pump is still an issue, whether you'd like to say it is or isn't, A lot of owners on these forums have replaced them, but to any new buyer its something to look for and ask about, especially if they are common in not only the 2003 in the bad vin range but all discovery's. I replaced mine in a 2001 discovery. That being said, every car has its quirks, and any oil pump with mileage on it will go bad eventually, nothing lasts forever. These trucks are very unique, very fun to drive, and very off road capable. If you were to buy one, you'd love it regardless of the work you put into it. It becomes a hobby for most Land Rover owners to service, fix, and modify their rovers.
