Yeah I hear you. The only thing worse is when the off-roader wannabe's take their jeeps out after it rains, then freezes, then snows. They think the 4x4 badge means they can drive down the highway at top speed and be able to stop. and then blame the vehicle when they end up rolling in the ditch. (at -35 below)

I have had them in the NE for years, and they do rust. But Just take them to the carwash every week. Its not that bad. Do some sort of treatment for the frame and you will be fine. Mine never sees a garage, and I just keep it washed, including blasting out the frame. I did replace the rear portion of the frame for rust. But it was like that when I bought it from Maryland. Frankly, the fact it did not get much worse over the five years illustrates that it does not have to be a death sentence. If you are concerned about economics, then take it off the road in the winter. The market for these has softened considerably, Im not sure what the investment thesis is on them.
