Default Window Regulator Support Piece?

Hey guys, I replaced the broken regulator on my passenger side window. Checking the Atlantic British video, there's this plastic piece that screws into the lower arm. That was not present on my old regulator. What is the function of this piece? Can I get a replacement? If not, does anyone have one I can make a 3D model of?

at 11:12, there's a callout for that plastic part.

Thanks,

E

Hi -

That plastic item is the "Window Regulator Glass Guide CUC100090 For Land Rover Discovery I And Discovery Series II" I believe.

Unfortunately, that genuine item has been discontinued by Rover and the aftermarket options have been discontinued as well.

Have you checked the inner recess of the door panel to see if the screw loosened and the guide fell into the door cavity? It's odd it would be missing altogether.

If not there, you would need to get from a recycler or 3-d print as you mentioned.

Understood. I can't seem to find one on eBay either. I'm happy to model it up if anyone has one that they could spare for a week or two!

I bet if you posted in the "Land Rover Trading Wall "Merican” Version" Facebook group there are a # of guys on there that sell parts that have them...

There’s also one on ebay with it -- https://www.ebay.com/itm/40621403123...Bk9SR9SMuZKrZg

I gotta be honest though. I don’t think it’s really needed.

That is weird, I dont recall seeing that on any of the regulators I have replaced. Too many in my opinion, somehow the motors keep getting rusty.
