Power Inverters

RE: Power Inverters
Ok, the Belkin power inverter (85W) that I just bought is a goner
Yesterday while I was driving -my cellphone charging via the inverter, the overload alarm went off and after a few minutes it just went dead. I knew somehow something like this might happen, so its a good thing I informed the store manager beforehand if I could reimburse my purchase if something does go wrong -because I drive a "Land Rover" and not those ubiquitous Japanese-made cars. They said they've never had complaints before so they agreed for a full refund if something does happen. Went there this morning and claimed my refund
Somehow I feel bad because its a neat gadget to have in your car.
What is it about LRs that make you think twice about getting something new for your Disco eh?
Its a good thing it didn't start a fire. Don't want to use my newly bought fire extinguisher.
Cheers.

RE: Power Inverters
You need a larger power inverter. Whatever the wattage is of what you plan on running make sure that you get one that is bigger than that.
Your cell phone charger will say on it what the wattage is.
You can buy a car charger that plugs into your cig lighter cheaper than a power inverter.
But if you want to make margareta's then you will need a power inverter.

RE: Power Inverters
I guess you're right.
I do have those USB cigarette lighters adapters for the iPhone and I'm very pleased with it.
The inverter box says it charges laptops, cellphones and even a small TV.
And cellphones don't have big wattage requirements. Something must be going on I presume.
Good thing I was able to get my moolah back. I'll just look for a heavy duty inverter.
Thanks!
