You will need a fan hub wrench, 36mm in size, so you can remove the fan then the p/s pump pulley.
Order a new belt since you will be removing the old one, and make sure you flush all the old fluid when putting it back together.

is it common for a power steering hose to leak? Mine started leaking fluid this morning and is whining when i turn the wheel. Not sure if its leaking from the hose into the pump or the pump itself.

I think it is more common for the pumps to leak from the center paper gasket but hoses can leak too. The o'ring on the high pressure fitting and the clamp on the low pressure hose are common failure points.

Check your fluid! If it is whining, you are low on fluid, something is restricted in the line, or your pump is about to go!

I had a slow drip before this and put regular power steering fluid in it (which I know now is a no no) and then it started whining and now the big leak...could it be that the pump really doesn't like that fluid?

Yes. Poeple say the 2 are compatible, but I disagree. You need to flush out all of the fluid and replace with ATF. PS fluid has a higher viscosity. This will make your pump strain and give you a higher pressure, which is why you are leaking.
