Power steering noise when cold.

Exactly, it's usually just the gasket. Not sure about using JB weld. I used a high quality sheet gasket material and made my own gasket. Any new pump is probably going to have the same crappy gasket that won't last long. RTV doesn't work. Lots of threads on this topic. Save some money and just replace the gasket.

not to high-jack, but I have a similiar situation, but it's more of a chirping from the front of the motor... I HAVE tried narrowing it down, but seems to be from around the location of the water pump... It chirps on start up when cold (in a garage, so about 60 degrees), then quiets down after about 30 seconds...
I have a new oil pump, new water pump, timing gears, etc., and was planning on replacing next weekend. So, my question is, has anyone else had a similiar experience where the water pump was chirping on start-up... and does it stop when it's replaced?
.. or oil pump, for that matter...
Thanks...

Hey gang,
So it really looks like the hose is the issue on my DII. I have a new one and intend on replacing it tomorrow. Obviously I will need to replace a bunch of power steering fluid after the job and I suppose I need to bleed the system afterwards? Is it really just as simple as loosening the bleeder screw similar to bleeding the brakes? Any additional words of advice?
Thanks.
