So today I finally got into working on the power steering issue I've been having... I decided to replace the PS pump either way as I'm at 120,000 miles. I bought a new pump, but didn't think to buy a separate O-Ring...
I have two issues:
1.) Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the old O-Ring when I took off the high pressure hose from the pump. Not stuck inside the housing, on the hose, on the ground, or somewhere on the frame...
I didn't think to order a specific o-ring as I have a box of O-rings, made of but I can't figure out exactly what size or composition the O-Ring is, because the one that was on the old one is God knows where?
The box of assorted O-rings that I have are made of NBR, and the one that seems to fit is 10MM x 2MM.
I'm thinking that I don't want to put it together and have a leak, so I'll try the local LR dealer parts department tomorrow, and see how quickly I can also order something maybe from Atlantic British. I'm heading out of state in a week so I'm gonna have some serious challenges if it takes me a week to get that O-ring, though!
But I wonder if anyone has had experience with this or can guide me? I'd appreciate any advice here.
2.) I haven't been able to find a replacement resevoir, and mine had a pretty clogged up filter. When I got it off and started cleaning it I noticed a small hole in the filter. I think I should add an in-line filter, am wondering what others recommend/have done.
Thanks!
See attached photos of the fitment of the generic O-Ring from my box of o-rings that I keep in my toolbox. I tried it in the old pump I took off the truck.

That's what's a bit strange about it, it doesn't snug to the collar on the male side, but I get the feeling when I see how it seats that it's not meant to.
