Default Power steering whine after head gasket change?

I got my cylinder head gaskets changed yesterday per my last problem with the engine running rough. It now runs much better, but there is a loud whining (worse when turning the steering). I assume they had to drain/refill the power steering fluid for the cylinder head change, since they are claiming that the noise is due to 'air in the system' that will 'work itself out in a day or two'. Has anyone see/hear of such a thing or did they break something on reassembly?

Are you sure they drained the p/s system, how much have you driven it since the engine work?
Is it a growling sound, have you checked the p/s fluid level?
Yes this can happen, make sure the p/s reservor is full and with the engine running, turn the steering wheel full left and right 4 or 5 time and see if it starts to quiet down afterwards. If it doesn't, get it right back to the shop so you don't burn up your pump.

I've only driven it for one day and did a little 'left/right/left' to get the air out. I do it a bit more, and if nothing improves I'll take it back to the shop.

Thx.
