Default primer question

Hey guys, my question is if I do a wet sand over the clear coat of my disco and then a couple coats of primer will I get rust eventually?

Not sure I follow what you're trying to accomplish. You want to cut the clear, then spray primer on top? Are you looking to keep the final coat, a primer coat?

Well, the fenders and rear quarters are aluminum so, the won't rust regardless. The doors could potentially rust if you cut the clear and base coat down to the metal.

i "believe" if you scuff it up and hit it with an epoxy primer you will be fine, epoxy primer will pretty much stick to a prepaired surface.

I'm actually working on filling in some hail damage and I'm using rustoleum primer for vehicles. I'm sanding the dings to metal but the rest of the truck I'm doing a quick go over with 250 grit. after filling and sanding I'm doing to coats of the primer. the reason I'm asking is I like this primer look and want to keep it. but I'm worried about it rusting soon. the can says no rust but not sure exactly what that means.

If you don't cut all the way through your clear coat or color coat, then the primer would remain the failure point. Water is not going to penetrate through the clear that is roughed up, nor the color coat below that. If you are looking for the Rat Rod look, what about flat black?
