Problem creeping up with Transmission
I did all of my service over the past couple of months and this weekend my truck isn't wanting to shift into 4th gear when I start driving. After driving for a while in traffic or scooting around town it will start shifting OK. I didn't have a problem with this too much before, just every now and then. The fluids in the Tcase and Trans were full and looked good when I drained and refilled. I'm going to check the levels after work and see if it went down any in either one. Also I was running it in Sport Mode for a couple of days last week. That is the only thing I have done differently and now I'm having problems shifting into 4th? I thought I was done working on this thing at least for a couple of months, jeeze WTF?

Driving home from work
I still am not able to check fluid levels until later but it was working fine on the way home from work. Shifted fine through all gears at all times. Once again, this AM it did not want to go into 4th when I hit the highway. When traffic cleared after 15 min of stop and go, went through 4th as normal. No problems with any of the other gears. If the Trans fluid is full then I will go to the auto parts store and get a .5 inch adapter for my .375 ratchet and pull the plug on the Tcase. Will the level of the Tcase oil have any effect on the shift from 3 to 4?

The fluid level is full. Has anyone else had an issue with a 3rd to 4th gear shift in the mornings on a 2003-04? Intermittent problem. Not consistent. It works fine after driving 10 or 15 minutes. I need to find out what's going on before it does become consistent. This is the first time it has acted up 2 days in a row after sitting overnight.

I always let the engine get up to operating temp before I drive it. I found out quickly that my SAI motor doesn't like to get up and go. sounds like a diesel from inside the cabin if driven around cold. As long as I let it warm up first then it will purr. I guess that doesn't do much for the Trans idling in one place, but I have to make several blocks before I reach the highway. I don't know...it comes and goes. Last 2 days no sign of the original issue I have posted here. In the back of my mind I still wonder if it had anything to do with Sport Mode. I hope so. I will never use it again
