problems that freeze you
Hello
I have a friend that called me today to have me ask about a problem he has on his 97 disco.I t seems he has leaking freeze plugs and his mechanic told him he has to remove the engine to replace them.Is this true? I have known others whereengines are not necessary to be pulled to change them.I believe they are the side freeze plugs not the ones between the trans. Thanks always.

I would power scrub the engine, don't get the ECU wet, and then check each plug. Might find that it has leaking head gaskets, freeze plugs are not a common issue with Rovers.
If it isthe head gaskets leaking should he replace them or can he use it for some time until theinevitable? ,truck has 123000 miles on it.As always thank you very much.
