Red face Problems in newer years LandRovers ?

Hi.
Been only on Disco II forums as that is what I have.

Checking for typical problems as overheating, roof leaks, in LR3 seem were not solved at factory.
Checking the same in LR4 did not find much. But being newer perhaps do not surface much yet.
Noticed 'Disco V' on the vehicle line-up.

Anyone familiar with newer models; what are they typical problems ? Is LandRover addressing the reliability ? It could be helpful if a 'used upgrade' opportunity shows up some day...

LR3 control arm bushings, water intrusion, coolant bleeder T and diffs can all be issues. So far though both of mine have been absolutely awesome.

I offroad my 2006 Bonatti Gray LR3 take it on extremely long road trips and daily drive it. It's awesome at all the above extremely well and with comfort.

The white 2007 is the around town runner, and occasional long haul.

Both have been great so far with about 18k combined miles this year. Do your maintenance and enjoy

I totally agree the LR3 is a very good vehicle. You might have to fix the control arm bushings, or rebuild/replace the EAS pump, but the 4.4L is very reliable. My 06 had to have a few things repaired upon first buying it (any used car is going to need something), but after I fixed it it’s been awesome!I’d but another 05-09 LR3 in a heartbeat or a RRS 05-09.

Honestly I wouldn't mind the 2006-2009 Range Rover L322 either. It had the great Jag V8 as well.

My sister’s 2013 (maybe 12) LR4 has been back at the dealership many times with leaking sunroofs.

Also, and I’d be curious what people here would say, but the service manager or tech told her to make sure she got rid of her truck before 90,000 miles (when it was at 60 or 70). I assume this is bs, but I found it very odd a LR employee, non-salesman, would say that on a vehicle that has been 100% dealer serviced since new.

I would say that as long as she is maintaining it and keeping up on the oil changes than I wouldn't be that worried

Thank you. She definitely is. Part of me was wondering if she just made it up to set herself up to get a newer range rover.
