Default Prospective Disco II Owner

Hello All,

I am contemplating purchasing a 2004 Disco II in my area. My current DD is a 1994 Toyota 4Runner and it is getting long in the tooth. I have always wanted a Land Rover and have admired the look of the Discovery. I have lurked on this site for awhile, but never posted till' now.

My question is a bit hypothetical: What is a best estimate fair market price for a 2004 Disco II with 45K miles, S trim, silver in color, and let's assume clean with records and all the desirable fixes and a VIN number outside the range of the engines with the bum oil pumps?

NADA, KBB, Edmund's, list prices (clean retail) from a low of $8,755 to a high of $9,975.

Any help with estimating a reasonable offer to the dealer would be appreciated. Who knows? Maybe by the end of the week I will be introducing myself in the new owner's section.

Thanks Again,

Greg

Prices vary from location to location. Where I live book on my 99 is like $4000-5000, but people actually get like $3000, if they are lucky. Land Rover's is one place that the books cannot keep up with depreciation.

Looked for 3 months (nationwide) for mine...had to be an 04, 7-seater, 60K mi or less, no accidents, good service records and not be black interior (per the wife). That really ruled out probably over 95% of the 04s out there, but I finally found one for $12K and bought it. Had I opened up my options, could have saved a couple grand.

Buy one with a problem - you'll then save money.

A perfect one will have a problem soon enough and you'll pay A LOT
for perfection - which never lasts.
