PSA: New expansion tanks suck
Contact them ASAP!!!!!! I got 2 OEM expansion tanks off of Ebay a while back for 40.00 each. I actually swapped out the Carrs4x4 aluminum tank and put an OEM back in it's place as I didn't like the radiator cap seal on the Carrs4x4 unit. I need to just take the tank down to an auto parts store and find a cap with the right PSI that fits well.
I have not had the greatest experience with parts from L8 or customer service. When I asked who makes the parts I get a “we don’t know”. Much better luck with Rovers North, AB or even eBay OE parts.
Oh I had the XD out in Big Bend when the brand new AT line blew totally apart. Crimped high pressure line my (_!_).... 25 year old line had 1 drop hang from it from day one, but I was pro-active and replaced it vs being stranded out there, but sadly the exact opposite happened. You could simply pull the crimped line apart. It did make repairing it in Fort Stockton, TX easier as I just pressed some AT Line over the 1.5inch long ends and secured it with 2 hose clamps per side. I contacted Erik ASAP while stranded and got nothing, once back I asked for a refund thru their website which I got, but I was not impressed with the poor quality of that AllMakes4x4 line (was never told what brand it was or I'd have gone elsewhere as AllMakes4x4 stuff makes Britpart look like OEM....). I now have a fuel pump that on my D1 which the sending unit only reads up to 3/4 of a tank and it will set a P0460 fault for faulty info from sending unit. That also kicked the bucket out at Big Bend but as long as the actual fuel pump was working I didn't care at the time.
I've complained for the exact same reason as mentioned above = if you're going to sell something list the darn parts manufacturer so we can make a good choice based on that vs a pot luck style part that shows up.
