purchasing an 03 or 04 disco questions.
really, just curious what the major differences, if any are between the 03 and or se, and hse?
I am currently debating between a 03 in the color combo i want with the options i wanted and approx 65k on it and an 04 with my second favorite color combo and about 65k on it as well. they are both nearly optioned the same se's, the price difference is about 2k after talking both sellers to the point they won't seem to go any lower.
both were serviced from new at the dealer with all scheduled maintenance and neither has had any out of the norm things so they seem to be really solid cars.
what should i look out for, what should i expect to replace, and i'm really curious what is different between these two trucks as they both seem identicle more or less.

The main difference is the load rack bars on top. 04 is beefier. and the transfer case is lockable on the 04. Also check the VIN on an 03 to make sure it doesn't fall in the bad oil pump range.
For 2K, I would get the 04 all day long.

For only $2K difference it's pretty much a no brainer, go for the 04. It has the best of everything offered in the Discovery 2 line. CDL and no oil pump issues are huge bonuses. What do you plan to use the truck for, just out of curiosity?
my plan is to use it as a mild every day driver, i currently live in charleston sc, will be moving to san diego were i'll be using public transit daily, also very mild off road. and when i say offroad i'm talking little excursions in the country and snowboarding/skiing, not serious mudding or any of that. just not my thing really.
