Default Purchasing Disco II with Blown Head Gasket - HELP!

Hello Everyone - I am looking to possibly purchase my first LR Disco II. It is a 2001 with 63,000 miles. The truck looks like it is in good condition, inside and out. The engine looks very clean but it has a Blown Head Gasket. From what I have seen on the threads - it seems like this is a common problem with these. I know my way around a garage and have done extensive work to both import and domestic vehicles alike. I have not, however, worked on a Land Rover. What gremlins do I need to watch out for that are generally associated with a head gasket replacement? Also - anything else that I would not think to look at when looking over these vehicles before purchase? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The head gaskets are straight forward.
If you can do them on a 350 you can do them on a Rover.

It is very straight forward. The shop manual is free and has the entire process spelled out with drawings even.

do guys that do the gaskets on these engines bother to loosen the rocker arms or do they just slap the head back in place and position the push rods in the socket of the rockers and torque the head down?

how can he tell if the engine was overheated or not?

my understanding is that head gaskets are easy...but an engine that's been overheated may be toast.

What are they asking for the vehicle? That's important info.

How do they know it is a blown head gasket, was it allowed to over heat a couple of times, is there coolant in some of the cylinders, white coolant smoke from the tail pipe and coolant in the oil? Lot of things to check cause you can also have a cracked head or a dropped sleeve at which point the engine is now a boat anchor.
How much are they asking for this 01?

I have done the heads twice and each time have removed the rocker arm assemblies. I can not imagine anybody to leave them on during this job.
