Default Putting new remanufactured short block in my O2 D2

Well I decided to bite the bullet and get the tick tick from the slipped cylinder sleeve taken care of. It's going to cost more than I had ever imagined, but I'm going to end up with a hand built engine that should last for 20 years. The D2 body only has 123K on it, so I think it's a good decision.

One question I have is about new springs and shocks. Should I go with heavy duty, or medium duty. I do about 90% of my driving on pavement, but when I'm off road I torture the poor girl.
I worry that the heavy duty springs and shocks will rattle everyone's fillings out of their heads. I do like the idea of the extra tough suspension. Anyone have any comments/experience with heavy duty over medium duty springs and shocks?
Thanks!
Bill

One question...

Are you from HB?

I'm from Santa Cruz, the true surf city. LOL, I think we won the court battle.

According to Wikipedia HB won the right in 2008, but let's agree to disagree.

Where did your short block come from?

From reading the wiki page it states that HB won the right to use the trade mark. Not that it is the original or correct place for the name.

Big difference and shouldn't be really seen as a 'victory', more that they didn't lose.

But remember it's Wikipedia. Flawed info by the very nature that anyone can edit it.

Anyway, that block.....

If it's on the Internet, it must be true...

I was really only asking to see if there was a fellow rover head in HB. I could care less what city holds the distinction.

Abran,

I've been trying to respond here and I keep getting error messages that my replies aren't going through.
I don't know how to use this forum, I'm trying to figure it out. I wrote a very long response this morning, but now it seems to have disappeared.

I'm having the block built up by a professional shop, it is a top hat block.
I will write more if this message finally goes through.

So sorry for the confusion,

Bill

Looks like a BMW engine will bolt up to the ZF transmission.

This example shows a V12 BMW engine in a D2
