Default question about ckrankshaft on TD5

hello,
I have a TD5 2004 since some months actually two and I had this unlucky situation today on where I was driving and I noticed and sign on the dashboard and I lost the brakes and the hydraulic on the drive, as I was close to home I drove slow till reaching home. When I open the hood in order to see what's going on I noticed that the belt was not moving and I observed that the crankshaft was not moving.

The records that I have is that the crankshaft has been replaced 30000 kms ago, can somebody provide some insights on what could cause this, could be a bad tension on the bolt that holds it or what could be the problem?

thanks in advance.

I think you mean the crankshaft pulley.
I don't know the TD5 engine, but on the V8 engine the bolt for this pulley is extremely tight (270Nm). Perhaps whoever worked on it did not get yours tight enough and it came loose.

Well that is usual, as the crank bolt torque is 460nm, or 340 ft lbs, and it has a woodruff key in it as well, maybe the key was missed when the belt was replacd its easy to do

finally we got resolved yesterday, the problem was that the bolt was weak and the seal that had was not the correct one, we did that with 460nm and now seems to be running smooth so far.
thanks for the guidance
much appreciated.
