Default Question about dif/t-case seal replacement

I had the dealer replace both the front/rear dif pinion seals, and also the t-case pain seal. Done under warranty. The advisor said that they would probably change the fluids as part of the service. When I looked over the invoice, it said that the fluids were topped off. My question is can the seals be reaplced without changing the dif and t-case fluids. Thanks.

the diff seasls can be replaced without draining any of the fluid. and it depends on what was replaced/resealed on the tbox. either pinion, they dont need to, and it really isnt part of the job to do, if it was the lower cover, it was drained and refilled.

no, im really not sure, i cant think of any actual gaskets on the case, its all just rtv seals, three shaft seals, and an o-ring for the intermediat shaft. and the rest of those parts apear to just be nuts and bolts, given that there are 8 nuts and 8 bolts, id say flanges, but i cant figure out what the 8 42464's are, what the hell costs 6 cents these days

Is it safe to assume that if they did not list any fluids, it was not changed. Just trying to figure out what needs to be done for my 60K service.

not really, differential fluid is usually stored in bulk, that is its not in the parts department, rather in the shop, and the tech would have to tell the parts department to bill it out, which is not always done, the tech does the job and grabs the fluid. however, i would go ahead and replace the fluid anyway, wont hurt anything and the fluid isnt too pricey
