Did you have any problems getting the shaft out? I'm thinking of buying a rebuilt prop shaft and doing the work myself, if its not too much of a hassle?

Getting the front drive shaft out is pretty easy job its four bolts on the front diff side and four nuts on the transfer case side the bolts on the transfer case side will stay in the flange. The truck will either need to roll or be lifted in the air as the four nuts will be a little difficult to get to without turning the drive shaft 180° but it is possible to do.

shaft out is a snap.
as i said everything "looked" tight upon removing the iniversals
all of the caps and bearings were still wet with factory grease
and buetiful shiney needles, then it happened removing a cap
there was dust were grease used to be and needles that were all but
pins.
many thanks to all who harp on changing front shaft UJs
now on to that dang center ball
j
ps: can a disco be run on the back axle alone, i need a few more beers
