Quick Heater Core Repair Question

Hey guys I'm almost there in my heater core repair. The HVAC is ready to be removed. I'm going to replace the core, and the heater pipes as well. My question is that i noticed that the foam is somewhat melted onto the heater pipes. I was wondering if I could simply use a hand saw and cut around this foam. This would be my preferred method as i would like to not have to remove the additional parts required to remove all of the foam.
I noticed the bracket behind the heater pipes but it is hard to see because of the foam. The melted foam doesn't have anything to do with securing this bracket or the pipes right? So there should be no problem in cutting around it correct?
