Quick question about oil

Husband and I are in the process of changing the oil on the 2002 Discovery II. We have the oil, but no owner's manual. Does anyone know how many quarts it takes? 5 or 6?

Anywhere from 5 to 6 quarts, depending on the filter. What type of oil and filter will you use?

Pour in 5 quarts, run the engine at idle for a few minutes, shut it off and let it sit for 10 min then check the dipstick.

Oh, just thought of this, if you go to www.autozone.com they have a link to check the specification's and quanities of fluids for your car.

Your engine will take 6 quarts and this is an estimate depending on the filter size. A large filter like a K&N 3001 or a Mobil1-301 will take slightly more because of their extra capacity.
