Default Radio Won't turn on - Fuses Fine

1995 disco

I was installing a new stereo (minus the head unit) and when I was splicing into the current wires I touched + to - and the radio shut off, no display / anti theft light

I went through and checked the main fuse panel (under steering wheel) the front panel (next to battery) the amp fuse (on amp under passenger seat) and they were all fine...

I've read of radios doing this after searching and no one ever had a solution

any other fuses i'm forgetting? Did I fry the radio?

I had an old Mercedes that had a fuse in the radio itself...maybe this one has one too, and it's blown. Worth a shot.

Hmm...that stumps me then. Other than throw a bunch of sparks, did it make any popping sounds when you shorted it?

none whatsoever... it still blinked the antitheft light for like 10 minutes, and now it's not even doing that

Maybe it's got like, an internal circuit breaker that just needs time to reset. Maybe it is toast. Try http://www.car-part.com ... IDK if they carry radios.
