Default Random ignition chime?

Gents,

As we know there are two vehicle "chimes" in the DII. The standard ignition chime, and the higher pitch that dings if you leave your headlights on, enable HDC, etc.

Occasionally on start up, instead of the standard chime, I will get the high pitch chime and it will ding three times in a row and go off. No warning lights, no codes, no nothing. I can't find any sort of consistency as to when it does or doesn't do it. Something else it could be warning me about? Ignore it?

A possibly related note: the rear air suspension was swapped for coils before I bought it.

Cheers,

Jake

The rear air was probably not turned off in the BECM.

I know that since changing the SLABS unit in my truck from the original 1999 piece to a 2004 piece, my truck gives the three chimes on startup and the brake indicator light comes on because I have a wheel sensor fault. I changed the setting from air to coils and there are no other indications that that is what causes the chimes.
When I was researching the air to coil conversion, I recall somebody saying that the 2004 trucks all chime on startup. I'm not sure whether that is true or not.

My 04 has the "key in" chime, headlight chime, seatbelt chime, and 3 chimes on startup.
I turned most off with the Hawkeye, and left the 3 chime on start up. All can be turned off.
Or, you can simply unplug the chime from the back of the guages.
