The car is damaged, so I figured finding a blown engined Range Rover 4.0L and swapping the engine would be the quickest route to getting him back on the road.

 

You will find a DiscoI much faster that a older Range Rover.

 

What would you guys recommend? Find another Disco with a blown engine? FInd a Range Rover 4.0(P38?) and swap engines? Or sell and not look back?

 

What do you want? If you are trying to swap and sell to make money, I would just sell the motor and part what is left of the truck. If you want to have fun, buy an old Disco and drop the motor in!!

My question to you is if you know the motor is any good. Head gasket failures are common, and if it was ran without coolant during the wreck, might have heated up and dropped a sleeve.

 

As far as I know, the engine still runs fine and the 5spd tranny shifted perfectly. Interior is in excellent condition. Pretty sure it did'nt lose coolant and engine cut off during the accident.

 

I would find an older Disco and swap, or part it out if you just want the cash. 5 Speeds are not too common......

 

Anyone know of any LR Disco's in NC that have a bad engine? Preferably Blue with Tan interior.

 

Find a local club and ask them...
