Hello:

I'm the new owner of a 2000 LR Discovery II. When i put the vehicle in drive and start driving the doors do not automatically lock. According to the owners manual, the doors should lock when the vehicle begins moving faster than 4 MPH.

the manual further states that this feature can be disabled by a LR dealer.

Anyone know the secret combination to toggle this feature back on?

Probably around $100 at the dealer depending.

 

Only the dealer can turn it on or off, same with your day time running lights.

But let me tell you that driving with your doors locked is NOT a good idea, if you were to get into a accident it will prevent help from getting to you in a timely manner.

I found out that the cars that do this usually have problems with their doors coming open during a accident so they auto lock to prevent this.
