I need some help on fixing the rear center seat belt. Like many of you, my rear center seat belt on my 04 Disco got stuck. I removed the back of the seat, etc. The issue I'm having is that I removed the two little screws on the side of the seat belt reel and the plate sorta came out and I heard a noise like a coil or spring spinning/winding up.
I'm not quite sure how to put this back together. Hoping for some guidance on next steps. The picture I'm including is not the exact photo of this vehicle's seat belt, but what I'm trying to describe is the part I circled in red.
Am I going to need to get an entirely new complete seat belt?
The issue is that I unscrewed and removed the side plate that I circled in the example photo. I'm not sure the belt would be put back probably since the side plate sounded like it was 'wound up'.
How do you remove the center belt completely? I already removed the one obvious bolt on the back of the seat, but can't see exactly where to remove the other part of the belt.

Do you have a copy of the Workshop Manual? Should be in there.
To remove the center seat belt assembly completely, you have to remove both the seatback and the seat bottom. With the seatback off, you can remove the section with the spool. The assembly is held in place with a single 17 mm bolt. To remove the other end of the seat belt you need to take off the cover on the seat bottom. It's held in place with black plastic push pins and you'll also have to remove the rubber feet. Here you'll find another 17mm bolt holding this end of the belt in place. To remove the escutcheon, the plastic cover on top of the seat, remove the two screws. As you pull the escutcheon away from the seat you will see that a small portion of the leather is glued to it. Carefully remove the leather from the escutcheon. With the escutcheon free of the seat, snap out the plastic cover (carefully, these parts are very easy to break) from the front of the escutcheon. The seatbelt is now completely free of the seat.
