Default Rear Differential Needs replacement

I have a 2004 DII that I am working on getting all the maintenance items checked off. When replacing the rear differential fluid, I found a piece of a roll pin and a ton of fine metal shavings. Fluid was silver in color and the magnet had an inch of crud on it.
I just need to confirm if all Discovery II rear differentials will interchange. I understand the gear ratio's are all 3.54:1. Is there anything different about the 2003/2004 vs. 2002 and before? In searching EBay I see some ads listing up to 2002. My diff has the 3 bolt holes on the flange.

Thanks

If you get a front diff you can run a u-joint driveshaft instead, if you were interested in getting rid of the rotoflex. Otherwise yes all d2 rear and many D1 rears will work

All D2 diffs i believe are the same. If you do wish to remove the rotoflex i recommend just changing the flange instead of putting a front diff on, the teeth on the ring and pinion should be directional. If you cannot source one out I have my stock front and rear diffs and would be willing to give to you just not sure of how expensive shipping would be.

The amount of effort it takes to swap a flange isn't worth it. Even if the ring gear is different front to back(I dont believe it is, pretty sure they're the same), that's not an issue that they have. The cross pin will break before the ring gear causes any issues.

Thanks everyone. I was able to source a good used rear differential and it is on it's way.
