Default Rear sunroof off alignment question

A couple weeks ago I went to open both sunroofs and the rear one started to make a loud clicking sound. It continued to open and shut but with a lot of noise. Yesterday it stopped shutting all of the way. I looked into it and found that one track on the pass side is not in alignment with the drivers side. Does anyone know if there is a way to realign them? I tried a Allen wrench with no luck. Thanks again.

I bet it has something to do with broken or missing small nylon or plastic bushings that go on the pegs & slide in the tracks /rails.

What happens is that the pegs, made of pot metal, in the tracks start to bend inwards a bit (you can't bend them back, they break) because the sunroof motor is stronger than the metal pegs -- lack of lubrication over the years, and then the bushings break or fall off. That looks to me like what may have happened,. Very common, starts with clicking. Fix is new sunroof mechanicals / tracks. (sorry)

Remove the glass, remove the gearmotor and the mounts can be shoved all the way forward.

Trigger the motor with it plugged in but not mounted to reset the close position cam switch on the motor. Reinstall the motor and you should be good to go.

BTW, headliner needs to come out for this, do the sunroof reseal at the same time

when I did mine it was the drive gear worn, the window are operates by a wire worm, mine was totally dry, and a missing plastic guide, I made a guide out of a piece of plastic, removed the wire drives and oiled them , replacing them, the fitted a new gear drive, all fine now for 18 months

Well I pulled the headliner and removed the sunroof. Looks like the brackets are bent! Is this correct?

If you remove them from the tracks and put lot of heat on them then you might be able to bend them back without breaking them, I recommend a map gas torch. hot enough to get them solved but not hot enough to melt the aluminum
